Why is your Carrara Marble so well priced?

Our prices are very competitive.  We are able to do this because we buy direct from the factories and therefore cut out the middle man.  And also because we do not have the overheads associated with a traditional showroom we work out of a warehouse!  We only sell top quality product in porcelain, ceramic and marble. Our Carrara Marble has all been quarried in Carrara in Italy - it is then shipped to China for cutting, this is common practise and everyone we know that imports Carrara mosaics uses China for the production process, in fact we don't know anyone using Italian labour to cut and mesh their mosaics as it would be far too expensive!  We also have to buy our mosaics in container quantities (13-14000sheets) to be able to offer these prices. If you have any doubts regarding our quality please look at our testimonials and or order a sample first!

Your prices are good across the board, why is this?

As an e-commerce company we have eliminated many of the traditional overheads associated with showrooms.  This and importing ourselves directly from the factories  allows us to purchase these products at a lower price and pass on these savings to you the consumer.

Where are your porcelain mosaics made and are they good quality?

Our porcelain mosaics are from China where these days the Chinese use Italian machinery and kilns in their factories, this means that you get European quality at a much lower price! Quality control is very strict as they are selling mosaics around the World and so the end product has to be made to a very high standard. We choose to import only porcelain products rather than some of the cheaper ceramic products from Indonesia.

How is the freight calculated and charged?

We charge you what the freight costs, we are not looking to make money on the freight.  The cost is calculated by a combination of the weight of your order with the suburb and postcode of your Shipping Address.  Usually at least three quotes have been received to set up the default in our system and we work with the best price that we can get. To work out the cost of freight just add the items to the cart and then go to view cart and click on estimate freight just under the sub total the site will then calculate it for you calculate it for you. Occasionally there may be a postcode outside the default zone and so it will then ask you to contact us for a freight quote.

Can I collect my order for FREE?

Yes you collect from our Sydney warehouse by prior arrangement but we do require 48hrs notice to get your order ready for collection.

IMPORTANT.

Please note that it is SELF LOAD only at the Sydney warehouse. Please make sure you can load boxes of tiles or have someone with you that can!!

Collection times are from 10am-4pm Monday to Friday

Please note the warehouse is not manned at weekends.

How will our tiles be delivered?

If it is a sample order we usually send them out with Australia Post.  All general orders are sent with haulage companies.  If it is a small order we will send it as cartons.  Otherwise our deliveries are packed on skids (mini pallets).  In this case they need to be tail lift unloaded at your address and will be delivered to the nearest hardstanding that the driver can get the skid to, as close to your property as they can.  Please understand that delivery trucks are often large and heavy, they most definitely don't want to damage your drive.

If your property is suitable for you to be able to give us an ATL (authority to leave) then that is always the best way.  Unless there is always someone at your property to receive the delivery, and we are never able to be completely sure of day or time for delivery, the drivers will take the delivery away and then charge again for a re-delivery.  Wherever possible an ATL is definitely the best way.

How long does it usually take to arrive?

Samples with Australia post can be anything from 2 to 7 days depending on where you are.  We dispatch from Sydney.

For freight on full orders we generally  ask you to allow 2-3 days for NSW, QLD and VIC.  3-4 days for SA and 7 days for Perth and Tasmania.  It can often be less than this but we prefer to under promise and over deliver!

What is your policy if the tiles arrive broken?

Firstly and thankfully we suffer very few breakages in transit.  We work very hard to pack our tiles for delivery.  We would urge you to check every delivery as soon as you receive it.  We would also urge you to ensure that you store your tiles suitably until they are to be used. If your delivery is damaged on arrival, please ensure that the freight company/driver knows if possible. Please photograph any damage to the packaging and then any damage inside if that is the case.  Please inform us immediately (we can only accept claims up to one week after you receive your delivery).  Please send us the pictures with your email for insurance purposes.

We will replace any damaged tiles as quickly as we possibly can at no charge to you.

How long have you been trading as an e-commerce site?

We spent nearly a year setting up our website, photographing and inputting as much clear information about each product as we could.  We took our first order on 4 March 2014.  We have grown steadily since then with a strong list of testimonials of which we are very proud.

Is your website secure?

We take reasonable care to make our site secure, to help ensure your shopping experience is safe, simple and secure all payments on the Tiles4less website are processed through Westpac via the Eway gateway and with the latest, industry standard GEOTRUST 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology.

Can Carrara Marble be used in wet areas?

Yes Carrara Marble can be used in wet areas very successfully as long as it is fixed and sealed correctly.  We have a page on our site with a Carrara Marble Fixing Guide.  This information has all come from our own experiences and those of the tilers that we have worked with for over 20 years. It gives you our best recommendations.
